Heinecke (500 win, along with a 700 draw).

honors with 3.5-0.5, holding off Ray Paulson in the final round. Under prize

March 2011 - Most players in the Open
section took turns at the top spot, but eventually John Elmore emerged the

impressive performance by Tom Laaman 3-2, posting a 1917 performance rating.
The Class section had two newcomers making their mark, a three way tie 3.5-1.5
between Walter Whitmore, Paul Staten, and Robert Lithgow.
April-May 2011 - Emerging
from our 7-round endurance event victor was top
seeded Pat Sciacca, scoring an impressive 6-1, dropping his only point to
runner-up John Elmore, who finished 5.5-1.5. Chris Cioffi scores the upset
prize (again!) with a 700 point upset in the early rounds. Chris has gained an
incredible 550 points on his rating in the last six months of tournament play.
June 2011 - Pat Sciacca ran a
perfect 4-0 to take top honors. Under class prize winner is Walter Whitmore,
scoring 2.5-1.5. David Hoyt posted a 400 point upset, and newcomer to the NBCC
returning to chess after a 50(!) year hiatus, Alan Strelzoff posted a draw with
a 1900 player to make a mark in his club debut.
July 2011 - Geoff Collins celebrates a
triumphant return to the club, posting a 3.5-0.5 score and taking clear first.
Under class honors go to David Hoyt and Walter Whitmore, scoring 2.5-1.5.
August 2011 - Geoff Collins and John
Elmore take their customary spots in the winner's circle, sharing 1st place
with 3-1. Robert Lithgow was the Under-1800 top finisher scoring 3.5-0.5.
George Verrette continued his steady ascent with a fine result of 2.5-1.5,
gaining nearly 100 rating points in the tournament and putting him at his
all-time high rating.
September 2011 - Frank Sisto returns to
the club after a nine months hiatus, scoring 4.5-0.5 and winning the five week
month. John Elmore and Pat Sciacca shared 2nd-3rd place with 3.5-1.5. Walter
Whitmore takes top honors Under-1800 with an impressive 3-2. George
Verrette continues his winning ways, scoring a 400-point upset.
October 2011 - A messy four-round month,
with the top two seeds scoring only 0.5-1.5 in the first round. Ultimately
the top two seeds tied for first, Frank Sisto and John Elmore with 3-1. Second
place was a 5(!) way tie at 2.5-1.5. Top prize under-1800 goes to
Robert Lithgow.
Club Championship 2011 - In a reversal of
last years match in which Frank won 2.5-0.5, Geoff won in comparable fashion,
drawing a difficult first game before taking both of his white games. Both
players are to be commended for once again navigating a sizeable field of club
challengers so as to reach their second straight club championship match. In
the Swiss, Dave Ferreira's fighting draw with Gerry Potorski in round
seven was sufficient to win clear first. Ron Burris, following an aesthetically
pleasing win against Art King in the final round, secured second place.
